Yes! WiFi is included throughout the home at no extra cost. The network name and password are provided on a small chalkboard at the coffee station.
Each adult bedroom and the living room have smart TVs with Amazon Firesticks for your use. We have provided free guest accounts with XPLite and Amazon Prime. You’re welcome to log in with your own streaming accounts (Netflix, Disney+, etc.), and please remember to log out before checkout. You’ll find simple instructions on posted placards near each tv.
The kitchen is fully equipped for family meals, whether you’re whipping up breakfast before the parks or enjoying a quiet dinner in. You’ll find cookware, bakeware, dishes, glasses, and utensils, along with a toaster, hot water pot, blender, and coffee maker. We also provide starter supplies like dish soap, dishwasher pods, paper towels, and trash bags to get you through the first night or two. For the rest of your stay, you may want to stock up at a local store or use Instacart Concierge service.
A washer and dryer are ready for light laundry during your stay. We provide a starter pack of detergent and dryer sheets for your convenience. While we do our utmost to keep the machines in good working order, we can’t take responsibility if clothes are damaged by an unexpected hiccup. If you notice anything unusual, please let us know right away and we’ll see it put right as quickly as possible.
Florida homes are built to handle both heat and humidity, but the air conditioning works best when used sensibly. For comfort and efficiency, please keep the thermostat set between 72–76°F and make only small adjustments if needed. Setting it too low (like in the 60s) will not cool the house faster—it may actually freeze the system and shut it down.
Just as important: please keep all doors and windows closed while the A/C is running. Even if it feels cool outside, opening the house lets in humidity that can quickly lead to mold and mildew. Keeping the home sealed helps the A/C do its job and keeps the space fresh and healthy for everyone. If you notice unusual humidity or the system isn’t keeping up, let us know right away so we can have it checked. Welcome to Florida! Along with sunshine and palm trees, our tropical climate also comes with insects and critters. Even in the cleanest homes, it’s normal to see the occasional ant, lizard, or palmetto bug (the local name for large roaches). We have regular professional pest control service, but no treatment can guarantee you’ll never see a bug.
To help minimize visits from uninvited guests, please:
- Keep doors closed as much as possible.
- Store food in sealed containers or the refrigerator.
- Consume food only in kitchen, living area, and outdoor patio (not in bedrooms). But don’t leave food outside–it attracts wildlife that are bigger than just bugs.
- Keep trash bagged and take trash out regularly.
If you do notice an unusual pest issue, let us know right away so we can address it. Our goal is to keep the home as comfortable and critter-free as possible, but part of Florida living is sharing the outdoors with its tiny residents.
Florida is wild. You will probably see LOTS of lizards during your stay. You might also see deer, racoons, bears, bobcats, or alligators. Please respect their habitat by avoiding disturbances such as loud noises, sudden movements, or approaching too closely. You can learn more about them at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation website.
Do not feed them or leave any food outside. Feeding wildlife can disrupt their natural behaviors and create dependency on humans for food. This makes some (especially alligators) more aggressive and dangerous.
If you encounter injured or aggressive wildlife, report it to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation at (866) 392-4286.
Be alert while driving, especially at known animal crossings.
The pool and patio are some of our favorite spots at Home to Holiday, and we want you to enjoy them safely and respectfully. Please keep in mind:
- Children must be supervised at all times in and around the pool. There is no lifeguard on duty.
- Keep gates and doors closed/latched for safety, especially with little ones. The latch on the pool fence can be tricky (it is intended to be childproof). To open, slide the bottom part of the clip, then life the hook upwards. Close the pool fence any time that adults will not be present and attentive in the pool area.
- Quiet hours begin at 11:00 pm — the pool area is outdoors, so sound carries easily to neighbors.
- No glassware in the pool or patio area (please use the provided plasticware). If glass gets in the pool, we have to drain the pool.
- Furniture stays where it is — indoor items aren’t designed for poolside use and outdoor furniture cannot come inside.
- No pets in the pool.
- Use pool toys/floats responsibly and store them out of the water when not in use.
- During storms or lightning, please exit the pool immediately.
These guidelines help keep everyone safe, keep the pool clean, and keep our neighborhood peaceful. Thank you for treating the space with care so it’s just as wonderful for the next guests.
Pool heat is $40/night (starting with check-in day) and must be arranged for the entire length of stay before your arrival. Our cleaning crew activates it on check-in day, and it can take 24–48 hours to reach full temperature. For this reason, it can’t be switched on partway through a stay. If you’d like warm water, we recommend booking pool heat for your entire visit when making your reservation. You should not need the pool heated June to September.
Alternately, if you are planning to spend most of your time in the parks, it may not make sense to heat the pool as the community pools are heated year round.
No. Home to Holiday is a 100% smoke-free property, both inside the home and around the pool/patio area. This includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vaping, candles, and incense. If smoke odors are detected inside the home, an additional cleaning fee will apply. Guests who wish to smoke must do so off-property.
In the event of a power outage, we do have battery powered tealights above the microwave. These should only be used if there is no power.
Quiet hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Keep all sound so that it doesn’t reach more than 15 feet from the property lines. Best practice is that all outdoor activity should cease at 11 p.m. as a courtesy to neighbors and other vacationers. Keep music and televisions (even indoors) at a low enough level so that it cannot be heard outside the home.
Please bag all trash in kitchen (or larger) bags and take it to the outdoor bins. Do not put loose items in the outdoor bins and do not overfill the bins. The lid should be secure.
If you are staying in the home on Sunday night, please put the trash at the street for weekly pickup.
The bagging of trash is not just a courtesy. It saves you from serious trouble. If you leave food in a way that attracts bears, foxes, or raccoons, you can be charged for violating wildlife laws/creating a public nuisance. Penalties range from $500 and/or 60 days imprisonment for first offenses of Misdemeanor crimes. (FAC 68a-4.001(3)).
Your best bet is www.experiencekissimmee.com. It is the official visitor site–that doesn’t want to get in your pockets. They have events calendars, information, links, and promote local businesses for no charge to tourists or businesses. They also have a visitor center and historical museum in Celebration.
Almost all the other “discount tickets” or “visitor information” places are designed to either sell packages or timeshare. (Most are timeshare.) Unless you plan to give up half a day of vacation to earn their perks (while you are given the hard sale on vacation ownership), avoid these places and just enjoy your vacation.
